FIELDWORK LIFEWORK PROJECT
ART FROM DAILY LIFE. ART IN DAILY LIFE.

Japanese Artist, Jun KITAZAWA is now living in Jakarta, as a Fellow of The Japan Foundation Asia Center from April 2016 to March 2017. And he established a project office in Ragunan,  to perform research for the realization of a new art project in Indonesia. The coordinator is curator, Angga WIJAYA. He also based in Jakarta.

In Here, "daily life" means a landscape internalized to each person such as by various environmental factors which are terrain, history, social status, religion, community, media, internet, and so on. "fieldwork" means an attitude observing objectively while enter into different "daily life". And, "project" means co-creative practice of art which throw doubts on the society through the “fieldwork” of  “daily life” in anthropological point of view. On this website, The process about fieldworks and idea of projects will be updated.

As lifework, Kitazawa archives his "daily life". These archive works is the way to not forget that the own ideas are also be influenced from trivial daily experiences. The Art will be from my/your daily lives, and art will be in my/your daily lives again.

Artist, representative of JUN KITAZAWA OFFICE YAKUMO working in collaboration with local government, education facilities, medical institutions, companies, local communities,and NPOs to develop art project related to people’s daily life in Japan and rest of the world. Using the factors from local area and building up relationship with local community in order to create a long-term art project that records the shift of value, he  proposes “community-specific” art projects.  He obtained  Ph. D. in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2015. He was named to "30 Under 30 Asia" list  in 2016, the Forbes magazine.

Angga WIJAYA

Angga Wijaya graduated from the Pedagogy of Visual Art of Jakarta State University (UNJ). He has participated in various curatorial workshop, such as those organized by the Jakarta Arts Council, Japan Foundation and ruangrupa. Today he focuses on curatorial work of projects that are specifically using social, cultural and education approaches. In 2014 he was selected to join Run and Learn: New Curatorial Constellation, a program of Japan Foundation in Tokyo.
